My name is Trysty Sullivan and I am currently one of the business development representative for Seven Hills Hospital. My role allows me to educate the community about the programs and services that our hospital provides, and also collaborate with partners who advocate and provide mental health services.
I received my bachelor’s degree in Health Science – Community Education from Cal State Long Beach. Right after my undergrad, I became a health educator for San Bernardino and Orange County in California. I challenged myself and decided to focus on middle and high school health. However, throughout my high school and college years, I worked closely with older adults. I was a business director then became a marketing director at a senior living community. I had the opportunity to open two new buildings, one in Sacramento and one in Fullerton. It was a great opportunity for me to learn the daily operations – building a team, communicating with contractors, hosting events, designing marketing material, strengthening relationships with community partners, all the way to the grand opening of the facility. I moved to Las Vegas in 2021 still as a marketing director for a senior living community. The one thing that caught my attention during my time in the senior living world was mental health. I did not have enough resources. My curiosity uncovered the need for mental health resources for both youth and adults which led me to meet with amazing organizations dedicated to mental health and substance use. I made the decision to leave my position as director and my team to do something even greater which brings us to today.
I truly believe in the work that we do as mental health advocates, representatives, and providers. There is so much to look forward to especially in progress and collaboration. It is very important to me that we all work together in order to move forward and move on.
